i was shocked to find no refrigerator in my room for my snacks and the creaky floorboards really dampened any charm this place could've had. i expected a complimentary upgrade for the inconvenience too—how very disappointing. the brunch was just average at best, truly a letdown when compared to what other high-end inns offer.

The breathtaking views from the porch were a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The staff was incredibly friendly and remembered our names, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Enjoyed a delightful gourmet breakfast each morning, featuring delicious sticky buns.
A bit more attention to the linens would go a long way for comfort! Also, it would be great if the restaurant hours were listed on the website for future guests.

beautiful views with charming staff
The property is historic and lovely with a breathtaking view of Little Traverse Bay. All staff members went above and beyond to be pleasant, helpful, and efficient. I particularly enjoyed the peaceful rocking chairs on the stunning porch, which made for a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The combination of the property’s significant historical value and the lovely garden adjacent to it truly enhanced my stay.
While the atmosphere of the dining room was delightful, the brunch could use improvement.

The inn features a stunning porch with rocking chairs for lounging and a lovely garden that overlooks the bay, making it a peaceful spot to unwind with a view. Spacious library offers a huge flat-screen TV, creating a cozy atmosphere for movie nights without the distraction in rooms.
While I appreciated the effort of a breakfast included, the brunch left much to be desired. it felt like the food didn't match the setting's charm. I missed having a refrigerator in the room for snacks, and the lack of a TV created unexpected downtime that could have been filled with entertainment.

Breakfast was a standout, with a gourmet brunch buffet that included a delicious Manchego ratatouille and delightful desserts, all enjoyed in a stunning dining room. The historic building exudes charm, with its unique decor and views of the bay. Meeting new friends on the porch under the rain truly enhanced the experience, but some room imperfections, like uneven floors and creaky boards, could be unsettling for some. The absence of modern amenities like a refrigerator made for some minor inconveniences.
